Terms of Service
Welcome to Identity Shift. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Description of Service
Identity Shift is a personal development app that uses artificial intelligence to help you visualize and work toward a future version of yourself. Based on information you provide, the app may generate:
- A personalized future identity and daily message from your future self
- Weekly journey actions and progress tracking
- "Your Future Self Journal Today" — a daily journal-style entry
- An AI-generated image of your future self from your photo
- Future Me chat with your future self (premium)
- Guided Stories with audio narration (visualizations, affirmations, becoming)
- Journal, mood tracking, habits, and optional Live Activity reminders for daily tasks
Free and premium tiers apply. Premium unlocks the full experience described in the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Identity Shift. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the app, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account & Data
Identity Shift does not require a traditional account with username and password. Your data is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. If you delete the app, your local data will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered by us.
Chat conversations are stored on your device for the current calendar day only; when a new day starts (or when you open the app on a new day), prior chat messages are cleared locally. We do not recreate messages for days you did not use the app.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Identity Shift offers both free and premium features through subscription plans sold via Apple's App Store.
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
- Our standard U.S. prices are $9.99 per week or $49.99 per year. The exact price shown in the app and at Apple checkout in your region is the price you pay
- Recurring subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions)
- Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's refund policy
- We do not currently offer a free trial unless Apple or the App Store listing explicitly states otherwise at purchase time
If a free trial is ever offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable under Apple's rules.
5. AI-Generated Content
The app uses AI to generate content including your future identity, daily messages, journal entries, weekly actions, chat replies, story scripts, narration, and your future self image. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content is for motivational and personal development purposes only
- Generated images are artistic interpretations and may not be perfectly accurate
- AI-generated text should not replace professional guidance (medical, financial, psychological, legal, etc.)
- We do not guarantee specific results or outcomes from using the app
- Generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not aligned with your expectations
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you provide (photos, text, journal entries). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the app's features (for example, sending your photo and prompts to our servers and AI providers to generate your future self image or a chat reply).
You agree not to upload content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, or offensive
- Infringes on others' intellectual property rights
- Contains malware or harmful code
- Depicts anyone other than yourself in photos used for future-self generation
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's servers or networks
- Use automated systems to access the app
- Impersonate another person
- Use generated content to harass, deceive, or harm others
8. Intellectual Property
The app, including its design, features, code, branding, and story catalog, is owned by Brodde Development and protected by intellectual property laws. AI-generated content created for you through the app is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted or error-free
- AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for your needs
- The app will meet your specific expectations or goals
- Results or outcomes will be achieved from using the app
Identity Shift is a personal development tool, not a substitute for professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for medical, psychological, financial, or legal matters.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brodde Development shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for subscriptions in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app if you violate these Terms, without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using the app.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall be resolved in the courts of Denmark, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
